Lee Wayne's Story
After graduation from high school, I went to the Technical Institute and received some machine Shop and Related training. I hired into General Dynamics, Fort Worth on Feb.12,1964. Married Charlene Russell on Sept.26,1964. She was the pianist for Bethel Baptist for several years. Had my first son, Jamie, July 23,1967. Had my daughter, Julee, on Nov.25,1970. Was laid off from G.D. on Dec.29,1971. Hired into Freight Master in Everman on Jan.19,1972. Moved to Burleson in August of 1972. Joined the Air Force Reserves in October 1973. Went active on Nov.23,1973 and returned home on June 8,1974. My job was 32550 - Automatic Flight Control Systems Specialist. I attended one weekend a month at Carswell A.F.B. in the 301st Squadron. I pulled my two annual tour at Carswell in 1974 and 1975 and in 1976 I spent the two weeks in Gulfport, MS. at an Air National Guard Base. We maintained F105's while they flew immaginary missions. My third child, Joseph, was born nine months after I arrived home from Chanute A.F.B. in Rantoul, IL., where I received my schooling.

elicopter in Hurst on Aug.19,1974. I was a bonder following the similar work at General Dynamics before my separation. I terminated my employment on May 6,1977. On May 9,1977 I hired into Miller Brewing Company because I was next to be surplaced at Bell. I worked midnights at Miller's from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. This set the scenario for a divorce in July 1980. I was laid off from Miller Brewing in Dec. of 1983. I quit July 26,1984 so I could find another job. I hired into Bell Helicopter, Textron and I went into a Manufacturing Engineering Loftsman Class I job on Oct.23,1984. At the end of Oct. of 2009 I will achieve 25 years at Bell this time. Obviously, I finally got all my child support paid off.
Now, I only go dancing on the weekends, except for an occasional gambling trip. I no longer try to maintain, afford, pacify or satisfy a steady girlfriend. I have thoughts of eventually retiring from Bell in 2 - 5 years. My 401K fell into the toilet when the stock market plunged early this year so, I have a ways to go before my plan recovers enough for me to feel comfortable to leave my job and call myself retired...Wayne
